About

During my education degree, I specialised in ceramics and batik, but found that working in education used all my creative energies and left me with little time for my own personal artwork, though I did continue to take photographs.

In 2005 I embarked on a digital arts course, with the Open College of the Arts, which rekindled my passion for making art.  However, I was anxious to move away from sitting at the computer and as a result of attending a printmaking course run by Lynn Hodnett I discovered a new enthusiasm for creating images by hand.  This was further developed at Hangingwater Studio with Lesley Warren.  I am now a member of  JWJ printmakers – a small group of four people who work independently and rent space at the studio.

I’ve never been interested in simply replicating an image and love both the line-making and serendipity that printmaking offers me. Though I’m strongly drawn to country and coastal landscape, I’m also very interested in people so you’ll see them in some of my work.

The majority of my prints are mono-prints produced in combination with collograph and dry-point plates. I enjoy using colour and recently I’ve become more and more involved in using painterly effects to create my prints.
